The Barlow Family
September 21, 1999
Hi to everyone now on
the list! I want to thank most of you for all your support so far on this project
of mine. As some of you know, it’s been a lot of fun and great therapy for me
to take this task on. I have spoken to a lot of you out there that I either never
had known or just lost touch with over the years.
I know a bunch of you have started to communicate with each other and that’s great!
I have heard from most of you on the list; some of you perhaps have been too busy
or haven’t the love and interest of our fellow classmates as the rest of us and
that’s okay. But for whatever reason you haven’t contacted me yet, please do so
I can determine what your interest may or may not be with this newsletter and
planned reunion.
The dates for the reunion WILL BE June 23rd & 24th.
I am including in this mailing the suggested meal plans available from the Cascade
Mountain Winery and Restaurant that I have already have had the pleasure to sample.
I can say without hesitation that the food is fabulous.
I am also including with this newsletter a questionnaire that I would appreciate
you ALL take the time to fill out and mail or e-mail back to me at your earliest
convenience so I can determine how many of you will be able to attend .
I’ve been informed by Ron Wilson, the present Headmaster, that none of the dormatories
will be available to us due to renovations planned for that time..
One place to stay, I was recommended to, was the Interlaken Inn in Lakeville,
CT as they have 83 rooms available at one location which is not that far from
the campus.
The other alternative would to bring tents and sleeping bags to camp out around
the pond or an area suitable for this type of camping out.
However, I suspect that, at our ages, we appreciate more of the creature comforts
we are used to nowadays.
I have also included a list of other motels and inns in the area for you to choose
from at different price levels to fit your budget. I only ask that, when you send
back your questionaires, you indicate which place you decide to stay once you
make your choices. If I get your responses early enough, I hope to send a list
of where everyone is staying in advance so we can communicate with each other
as needed.
The next page of this newsletter will be the questionnaire I would like back from
ALL of you. I hope you all can afford the time and a stamp to accommodate me on
this one. I’m just trying to motivate you all to respond here, so no harm intended
on my comments. Thank you.
I hope to include in the next newsletter some bios (biographies) on some if not
all of you to read over. I know a lot of you, if not all of you, have some interesting
stories to tell. And you know who you are!
That’s it for now, so keep the info coming. News at 11:00!
Okay here are my questions:
1. Name:______________
2. Class of _____________

Once I get a count of who is coming, I can book the Cascade Winery and will need
a deposit for the amount depending on which meal plan we decide on. If you should
decide to stay at the Interlaken, be sure to mention it’s for the Barlow School
reunion so we can track the number of rooms we’ll be using. I will be sending
under separate cover some literature on this facility or you can check it out
on their Web site at Interlakeninn.com
(You may insert any other suggestions)(But keep it simple!)
Ah yes, the KISS method: Keep It Simple Stupid!
Okay, we’re almost finished here!
I think I will leave the rest of the space for anything else you might want to
add.
I am also open for any suggestions or requests other than what I have attempted
to put into this newsletter. But PLEASE don’t make it too crazy! I do have a job
to do here too! Oh, and one more thing: please add anyone else you know that isn’t
on this list yet. Thanks again. Now the rest of the space is for your add ons:(you
may use the other side of this page if needed)
